This technician-specific activity will focus on the technician’s role in helping patients achieve positive therapeutic outcomes as a result of medication therapy management (MTM).  Medication safety as it pertains to MTM will also be discussed.

 

 

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of these knowledge-based activities, the pharmacy technician will be able to:

  1. Define medication therapy management (MTM) in relation to medication safety.
  2. Explain the role of MTM in helping patients achieve positive therapeutic outcomes.
  3. Describe three tasks a technician can do to assist pharmacists providing MTM services.
  4. Explain the role technicians play after the MTM service appointment.
  5. Describe innovative roles in Community Pharmacy MTM for technicians.

Accreditation Information

The American Pharmacists Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.

To obtain 1.0 contact hour of continuing pharmacy education credit (0.10 CEUs) for completing "Technician Roles in Community Pharmacy MTM and Medication Safety," complete the CPE examination and evaluation questions.
