Olympics in a Time of Zika – Home Study

Activity Preview

Zika infection is associated with fetal microcephaly, infant brain damage, and multiple neurological conditions in adults. There have been several cases of sexual transmission from travelers returning from Zika endemic areas. Not all pharmacists know the signs and symptoms of Zika infection. So much is unknown about this virus and not all pharmacists know how to counsel their patients about preventative and management strategies when it comes to Zika infection.

This online, home-study activity addresses the signs and symptoms associated with Zika infection. The speaker describes the epidemiology of the Zika virus and discusses some of the preventive strategies that pharmacists can share with their patients.
