October 2016 ACIP Immunization Update, Home Study

Are you an immunizing pharmacist or student pharmacist looking for current information about adult and pediatric immunization schedules, newly licensed vaccines, and emerging vaccine technologies?

APhA’s liaison member to the ACIP, Dr. Stephan Foster, will present the latest information via this one-hour CPE presentation. This home study activity will keep you abreast of any new immunization recommendations and changes to the immunization schedules as well as help you to fulfill your state immunization education requirements.

 

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this activity, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians will be able to:

  1. Identify how proposed changes to vaccine recommendations may impact immunization schedules for children, adolescents, and adults.
  2. Explain how recent changes to vaccine recommendations may impact current vaccination activities.
  3. Discuss available information regarding emerging vaccines, including data from clinical trials, projections for future availability, and potential roles in pharmacy practice.

 

Accreditation Information 

The American Pharmacists Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.

To obtain 1.0 contact hours of continuing pharmacy education credit (0.10 CEUs) for completing "October 2016 ACIP Immunization Update, Home Study," complete the CPE examination and evaluation questions. A Statement of Credit will be available upon achieving a passing grade of 70% or better. Please visit CPE monitor for your transcript.

APhA continuing pharmacy education policy provides you with two opportunities to successfully complete this continuing pharmacy education examination.
