Suicide completion rates in the U.S.
Healthcare providers including pharmacists may not know what to say to someone to get them to open up about emotional pain, depression, or suicidal thoughts and plans. This webinar is designed to provide pharmacists with the tools needed to start a conversation about depression and suicide and assist patients with recovery.
At the completion of this application-based activity, participants will be able to:
- Given a patient’s characteristics, co-occurring diagnoses, and
medications,identify risk factors and protective factors for depression and suicide.
- Compare depression treatment options regarding effectiveness, tolerability, monitoring, and patient counseling recommendations.
- Select appropriate verbiage and reflective responses to include when speaking to a patient about depression and suicide.
