Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) patients often face barriers to care, in part, because pharmacists aren’t adequately trained to address their unique needs.  Take this quick quiz to learn more about the needs of this population and effective strategies that enhance their care delivery.  

Learning Objective

At the completion of this activity, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians will be able to:

  1. Identify the healthcare needs of LGBTQ-identified patients.
  2. Describe barriers to healthcare faced by LGBTQ patients and how pharmacists can aid in their care.
  3. Discuss effective strategies that will improve pharmacists’ ability to communicate with LGBTQ patients in a safe and non-judgmental manner.
