Are you an immunizing pharmacist or student pharmacist looking for current information pertaining to adult and pediatric immunization schedules, newly licensed vaccines, and emerging vaccine technologies? APhA’s liaison member to the ACIP presented the latest information from the June 2019 ACIP Immunization Conference during this 1.25-hour CPE webinar. The speaker scheduled a significant block of time to directly answer audience questions regarding new immunization updates reported. Pharmacists were encouraged to attend this live webinar to stay abreast of recent immunization recommendations and changes to the immunization schedules.  

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this knowledge-based activity, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians will be able to:

  1. Identify how recent ACIP recommended changes may impact pharmacy practice. 
  2. Explain the reasons the ACIP recommendation was made, including changes in epidemiology of disease, data from clinical trials, newly available vaccines, or safety issues discovered. 
  3. Discuss newly available information regarding existing and emerging vaccines, shortages and availability of vaccines, safety concerns, and outbreaks of vaccine preventable diseases.
