Patients often take their medical care into their own hands with OTC medications. However, they need help determining which products to use—and how to use them safely. This roundtable session will relate product information and recent literature on OTC medications and self-treatment to real-life scenarios that you can apply to your practice.
At the completion of this application-based activity, participants will be able to:
- Apply recent literature in the decision-making process for evaluating candidacy for self-care and selecting appropriate nonprescription products for patients.
- Demonstrate effective educational strategies when using nonprescription products.
- Provide guidance for safe selection of nonprescription medication and nonpharmacologic interventions for patients with various conditions.
