This is the 4th module of a 4-hour online interactive training program that prepares pharmacists to discuss the hormonal contraceptive options available to prescribe, furnish or dispense, in accordance with state laws. The module will examine the considerations for effective practice management when providing hormonal contraceptives from the pharmacy.

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this application-based activity, participants will be able to:

  •   Discuss laws and regulations that allow pharmacists to furnish hormonal contraceptives.
  •   Describe a process to furnish patients with hormonal contraceptives in pharmacy practice.
  •   Explain how to write a prescription for contraceptive products.
  •   Document patient care visits related to hormonal contraceptive products.

To earn continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credit for this advanced training program, participants must complete activity, achieve a passing grade of 70% or higher on assessment and complete a program evaluation. To obtain credit, the learner must CLAIM credit once each module is completed. After credit has been claimed, please visit CPE Monitor for your transcript. Learners will be able to immediately print a Certificate of Completion will be upon successful completion of the program requirements.

APhA's continuing pharmacy education policy provides you with two opportunities to successfully complete each assessment. Please note that you will not be permitted to submit an assessment a third time. All assessment questions are randomized. The current policy of the APhA Education Department is to not release the correct answers to any of our CPE assessments. This policy is intended to maintain the integrity of the CPE activity and the assessment.
