Providing immunizations to our patients is more important than ever during the COVID-19 pandemic. As pharmacists, we must be knowledgeable about the adult and adolescent immunization catch-up schedules and guidance from the CDC in preparation to get our patients immunized and prevent the spread of disease. In this session pharmacists will learn how they can play an important role in providing immunizations to adults and adolescents.

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this application-based activity, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians will be able to:

  • List and discuss the different types of vaccines recommended for adult and adolescent vaccinations.
  • Explain the catch-up immunization schedule for adults and adolescents.
  • Describe the NVAC Standards for Adult Immunization Practice and recommendations related to adolescent immunizations.
  • Discuss and implement CDC, HHS, and other guidance on immunization pharmacy practice during COVID-19.
