The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention notes that tobacco use is the single largest preventable cause of death in the helping patients quit smoking and stop using other forms of tobacco are essential. Pharmacists are an underutilized yet accessible resource in community settings and can assist patients with their tobacco cessation efforts.
