Review the latest on shared clinical decision-making as it applies to pneumococcal vaccination. Hear from vaccine experts Lauren B. Angelo, PharmD, MBA, Michael Hogue, PharmD, FAPhA, FNAP, and Miranda Wilhelm, PharmD who will discuss the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) updated recommendations for the 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV13).
At the completion of this knowledge-based activity, pharmacists will be able to:
- Define shared clinical decision-making (SCDM).
- Describe the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommendations for SCDM and pneumococcal vaccinations.
- Apply SCDM to patients with specific characteristics for whom PCV13 should be considered.
- Discuss the pharmacist’s role when applying SCDM to immunization recommendations.
