Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are now hot topics being brought forth in all work and professional areas since the Black Lives Matter Moment brought national attention to the disparity and discrimination that is still occurring in America. As our nation becomes more diverse, it is important now more than ever to discuss these topics and provide education to all pharmacists. In this webinar, you will learn about the definitions involved with DEI, learn how they are interconnected, and identify strategies to avoid bias and discrimination.
This webinar is Part II in a webinar series on diversity, equity, and inclusion. Learners are encouraged to enroll in Part I home study, Deconstructing Systemic Racism: Addressing Social Determinants of Health in Pharmacy.
At the completion of this knowledge-based activity, pharmacists will be able to:
- Define the terms diversity, inclusion, equity, bias, and discrimination.
- Describe how bias, discrimination, and exclusionary dynamics are interconnected.
- Identify strategies to mitigate bias, discrimination, and disparity in the pharmacy setting.
