This online learning course describes key messages from APhA’s Vaccine Confident Playbook and focuses on supporting patient conversations and providing specific insights on how to effectively talk with patients and have meaningful and productive conversations to address common COVID-19 vaccination concerns. Panelists highlight timely issues around vaccine confidence and address concerns about COVID-19 vaccines most likely to be encountered by pharmacists, including:

  • The vaccines were “rushed”
  • Vaccine side effects
  • Reproduction, pregnancy, and breastfeeding
  • The belief that vaccination is “not needed”

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this knowledge-based activity, pharmacists will be able to:

  • Discuss common patient concerns that impact vaccine confidence.
  • Describe discussion points, messages, and strategies for pharmacists to use with patients on COVID-19 vaccine topics.
  • Identify references and resources for pharmacists to use to improve vaccine confidence conversations with patients.

The American Pharmacists Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. The following online learning course is approved for 1.0 contact hour of CPE credit (0.1 CEU). The ACPE Universal Activity Number for this activity is 0202-0000-21-325-H06-P. 

To obtain credit for completing Take Action on Vaccine Confidence: A Playbook for Pharmacists, participants will need to watch the archived webinar recording, complete the assessment with a grade of 70% or better, complete the evaluation questions, and then CLAIM credit. Participants need to have a valid pharmacist.com username and password to claim credit. After credit has been claimed, please visit CPE monitor for your transcript.
