Real World CGM Data Interpretation

Activity Preview

This course explores data interpretation using shared decision making and pattern management. Multiple reports are shown from various devices showcasing how the CGM key metrics and other aspects of the CGM reports are used to guide changes in diabetes self-management and treatment. The DATAA model (download data, assess safety, time in range, areas for improvement, action plan) is utilized in a series of case studies describing various people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Case studies range from no medication to intensive insulin therapy. Participants will leave feeling more confident with reviewing and interpreting CGM reports

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this application-based activity, pharmacists will be able to:

  • Discuss CGM key metrics and Time in Range guidelines for multiple types of people with diabetes.
  • Describe the DATAA model and how to use to effectively analyze CGM data and facilitate shared decision making.
  • Utilize the DATAA model to interpret CGM data and adjust treatment regimens.
