Concerns of overwhelmed pharmacists in busy pharmacies have become more acute with the stressors brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. Workplace conditions have pushed many pharmacists and pharmacy teams to the brink of despair. Pharmacy burnout is a significant patient safety issue. With a surge of (sometimes conflicting) information about the COVID-19 and its variants, as well as constant changes related to the vaccine and boosters, how do you recommend pharmacists and pharmacy technicians best stay informed with the most up-to-date information and effectively manage competing demands?

Join us for this one-hour, interview-style CE webinar, supported by Seqirus, Merck, and Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems, Inc., the third in a series of three webinars in which immunizing pharmacists will offer their “Tips from the Field,” by sharing information regarding vaccine burden for pharmacists and addressing pharmacy immunization services during the COVID-19 pandemic. The moderator will lead the conversation and ask questions of the panelist, who will receive the questions in advance to prepare and develop slides. The panelist will offer tips on how to avoid being overwhelmed and to keep up with constantly changing information, recommendations, doses, etc.

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this knowledge-based activity, pharmacists will be able to:

  • Discuss the impact of COVID-19, vaccines, and treatments on pharmacy services.
  • List strategies to manage the competing demands of immunizing pharmacists during the COVID-19 pandemic and influenza season.
  • Identify best practices to stay informed about the most up-to-date information about COVID-19 immunization services.
  • List resources to inform immunizing pharmacists during the COVID-19 pandemic.
